  • Debra Wells-Hopey (she/her)

    PROGRAM MANAGER

As Programs Manager with Eating Disorders Nova Scotia, Debra leads the development and delivery of the organization’s suite of programs. She provides supervision to a team of Peer Support coordinators and works to offer the highest quality support programs based on data, research and community input.

Debra is a PhD (candidate), Education Studies (MSVU) and holds degrees in both philosophy and public relations. She lives in downtown Dartmouth with her husband and an alarmingly lazy cat, has two adult children, practices yoga most days of the week and loves trash television, vintage clothing, and reading cozy mystery novels.

Debra has personal experience with disordered eating, treatment, and recovery. She understands that eating disorders can be lonely, and that recovery is a deeply personal journey that is aided by surrounding oneself with a community that acts as a support, a sounding board, and a soft place to just “be.”
